Kagoshima Spring Festival Dai-Hanya

Southern Kyushu's largest spring festival brings together dancers from across the region to perform energetic yosakoi-style dances blended with Kagoshima's traditional folk song 'Hanya-bushi' at multiple venues including Tenmonkan. Dancers perform creatively to their own chosen music, wielding wooden clappers (naruko) in one hand. The festival celebrates the arrival of spring and has become a beloved Kagoshima tradition held each late April.
